Computer companies Hewlett-Packard and Intel are ranked as Sacramento's top manufacturing employers, edging out more traditional industries. Sacramento has its sights set on being a high-tech town, and it's on its way. There are hundreds of thriving businesses in the Sacramento Valley area. Some have very recognizable names and others are start-ups. The valley and surrounding foothill area is fast becoming one of the favorite sites for large corporations wanting to build new campuses and also for small firms that are looking for reasonable prices for land and homes.
