Along the way, be prepared to witness breathtaking vistas of the river, lush greenery, lots of different wild flowers, and an abundance of wildlife. The trail features various difficulty levels, but is better suited towards a more skilled mountain biker.  As for hikers, it starts off on a fairly narrow trail with some steep terrain but levels out a bit starting after the first mile.  

Cronan Ranch Trails: Adjacent to the Salmon Falls Trail, the Cronan Ranch area offers additional opportunities for outdoor adventure.  Cronan Ranch has two parking lot trailheads in El Dorado Hills -  Acorn Creek Trailhead and Skunk Hollow which both connect to the South Fork American River Trail (aka Cronan).  Both of these trailhead parking lots do require a payment or a parking pass.  Acorn Creek is BLM land and Skunk Hollow is part of the State Park System.  This vast network of trails covers over 20+ miles of trails and is known for its captivating vistas of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the rolling hills of El Dorado County.
